New iOS 17 — the new version of Apple’s operating system for the iPhone — will likely arrive in a few weeks, shortly after the big Apple Event on Sept. 12. The New iOS 17 update will introduce new features like StandBy mode, the Journal app, and major changes for Messages.
However, some users of older iPhones are getting left behind and won’t get to experience the new features in new iOS 17. That could be you if you’ve got an iPhone from 2017 or before.
If you aren’t sure which iPhone you’ve got, a quick check in your settings can show you. Open your Settings app and tap General > About. Next to the Model Name, you’ll see which iPhone you have to determine if it is going to run the new iOS 17.
